“IDEAAL became the place where I learned so much about what it means to be a member of the APIDA community. I learned how to use my voice to speak up for myself and others, and gained many friends along the way. I truly believe that without IDEAAL, I wouldn't have had as great of a freshman year.”

“Through the programs of IDEAAL, I found a home away from home, being able to find and network with fellow Aggies from similar backgrounds, and with similar values and passions for what we wish to accomplish in our time here at A&M. IDEAAL provided a space to develop our future goals, projects, and initiatives on campus, with the initiative of promoting equality and inclusion for all. With this, I was empowered to represent and advocate for the needs of all cultures and backgrounds among the student body, and to get involved with the Student Government Association. The tenants of networking, involvement, and awareness, built the foundation of how I conduct myself and my work with promoting voter registration and civic engagement with SGA.”

“Being in IDEAAL has not only allowed me to explore the tenets of my identity to spur my personal and professional development, but has provided me with a home away from home within which I am able to feel my most authentic self. While the environment created in this organization is safe, it enables each member to step outside of their comfort zone to confront challenges that define our collective identity as a community as well as the traits we use to piece together our self perception. From learning about the Asian American community on campus to exploring my career path and connecting with compassionate mentors and leaders, IDEAAL allowed me to explore all aspects of who I am and discover my full potential while creating lifelong bonds.”

“From my time being a mentee my freshman year to being an officer and mentor in my sophomore and senior year, I have learned a lot from my experience in IDEAAL. IDEAAL has allowed me to further explore my identity, strengthen my leadership and mentorship skills, and improve my professional skills through various workshops. I have created meaningful relationships with so many wonderful people and these people are like family to me. I'm grateful that IDEAAL was a part of my college experience and I will treasure all the memories I have made with my IDEAAL family! ”

“IDEAAL helped me find my community during my freshman year. I was surrounded by peers who introduced me to new perspectives and mentors who helped me grow as a student and as a person. This motivated me to join IDEAAL again but as a mentor where I was able to give the new freshmen the same resources that I had during my freshmen year.”

“My three years in IDEAAL were so impactful to me. I learned so much about who I was and who I wanted to be while also getting an amazing support system to help navigate through my undergraduate journey. There are a lot of aspects of my identity that I would never have explored without IDEAAL’s workshops and lessons.”
